The Friday Five

on June 14, 2013

Hello Weekend!!!!!!  Yep, I’m a little excited it’s Friday.  It’s been a busy week and I am looking forward to some R&R. Let’s get to it…here are this week’s Friday Five!

1.  I won my match play game at golf this week!    I was on fire and played one of the best rounds I have ever played.  In fact, I had my best ever round going until the last hole where I shot a friggin’ 8 on a par 4.  The 6 on the par 3 2nd hole also didn’t help, but the rest of my round was fantastic:

I got par on the 7th hole and that is amazing…that 7th hole has been by nemesis since I started playing this course, so that made me very happy!  If I could have just kept to double bogey golf (which is my overall golf goal) on that damn 9th hole, I would have finally broken 50.

I also golfed on Wednesday this week with a supplier from work.  We played Maple Downs, which is a very nice course – a bit on the hilly side, but was a great workout since we walked it.  I was excited to get back out on the course and see if I could keep my good golf going.  Well, that didn’t happen.  I had a horrible front 9 – shot a 62!  Awful.  But, managed to get my self back together for the back 9 and pulled out another 51, so I was happy with that.

2.  I get to wear my new socks to the Box tonight!  Tonight’s WOD is:
WOD June 14

I’m ready for those rope climbs!  No more rope burn for this chick!  And, since the WOD has burpees in it, I think I will go with these socks:

They match my CrossFit shoes quite well, but with all the running we are going to do tonight, I think I will wear my running shoes instead…and they are going to clash horribly!  Smile

3.  My Paleo experiment is going very well.   I am eating very well this week and have enjoyed Paleo lunches (gotta love leftovers) and dinners all week.  Tonight I have another Paleo meal from the Everyday Paleo cookbook.  Tonight we are trying the Spice Rubbed Crock Pot Chicken.  This dish was easy to prepare and I quickly chopped the onion and rubbed the bird and got it into the crock pot before I was out the door this morning.  I hope to go home to a house that smells fantastic and a meal that tastes even better.  I’ll let you know how it turns out.

4.  I’m afraid of what’s in store for me tomorrow at my 9am CrossFit class!  Every day, my Box posts the WOD of the day as well as what the WOD will be for the next day.  I like this as it gives me a chance to hit YouTube for any moves that I haven’t done yet, or to get a refresher on moves I have only done a couple of times.  Here is all they say about tomorrow’s WOD:
WOD June 15

I’ll see if I can get a hint tonight at what tomorrow might have in store for us, but I’m afraid….very, very afraid!

5.  I am going to bed EARLY tonight!  It’s Friday night, I have nothing to do (other than hit CrossFit at 5pm), and I can’t wait to go to bed.  Hubby is away for a boys golf weekend, so it’s just the kids and me.  I’ve got big plans to go to bed early, read a bit, and get a good night’s sleep so I am ready for whatever that Mystery WOD is tomorrow!

Happy WEEKEND, everyone!

Got any big plans?
Any guesses as to what my mystery WOD will be tomorrow?

I’m loving the cookbook. Great recipes and all fairly easy prep so far. The kids even like it, so that’s a big bonus. U bought the e book for Everyda Paleo, Everyday paleo family cookbook, and practical paleo too. 3 e-books for the price of one paperback. Seemed like a good deal to me. Although nothing beats a hard copy cookbook.
